Electric Bicycles are divided into fully Electric Bicycles, Electric Assisted Bicycles, and hybrid Electric Bicycles. We have seen quite a lot of Electric Bicycles, commonly known as electric bicycles with rotating handles. The rotating handles are like a motorcycle refueling door, and the Electric Bike starts and moves forward; The Electric Bicycle is equipped with a sensor in the pedal part, which will feedback your stepping situation to the controller. The controller then controls the Motor to work, achieving a mode of assisting forward movement. Simply put, it is only when you step on the Ebike Motor that it will help you ride.
The key component of an electric assisted bicycle is the assist sensor, which is installed in the pedal part of the E Bike and its function is to transmit information such as the current frequency and force of the cyclist to the controller. At present, there are two types of sensors for mopeds: speed sensors that transmit pedal frequency information, and torque sensors that transmit pedal force.
After the power sensor signal is transmitted to the controller, the controller will control the motor to operate based on the size of the signal.
The Speed Sensor is relatively simple, consisting of an induction contact and a magnetic steel ring. The magnetic steel ring is installed on the foot jump crank and rotates with the crank. The small magnetic steel in the picture senses the induction contact, thereby transmitting information such as stepping speed to the controller.
The Torque Sensor is also installed at the crank position, which transmits not the frequency of stepping, but the force of stepping. Compared with the speed sensor, the assistance is more accurate, that is, when you step on the most forcefully, the output power of the motor is the highest.
Compared to speed sensors, torque sensors are more complex and precise, and are suitable for climbing situations such as mountain bikes. When going uphill, the pedal force is greater, requiring greater motor power, and speed is not sufficient. Therefore, speed sensors are not suitable, and torque sensors have a higher matching degree with this scene. The speed sensor has a simple structure and is cheap, making it more suitable for cycling scenarios such as city bikes and road bikes. Overall, each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Electric powered bicycles combine the characteristics of cycling exercise and fast commuting. When choosing an electric bike, it is advisable to choose an electric powered bicycle.
